  • “It’s been a long December & there’s reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last.” –Counting Crows-

New Year’s Eve was absolutely wonderful. We had dinner at Damon’s (Tav came!!!) & then rang in 2006 at the hotel. Somehow, by the grace of God, no other hotel customers complained about our noise level! It was a great night, even if I didn’t technically make it all the way til breakfast! I fell asleep sometime after 7 a.m. & woke up four hours later, horribly hungover yet hopelessly happy.

In regards to resolutions & personal revolutions- I have made a myriad of mental goals for this new year, but none of them will be shared with the likes of you, my loyal readers. So sorry, but this year they’re all confidential. Let’s just say that I plan to be a better person, in about a hundred different ways. Here’s trying.

Today I saw The Producers with my mom. What a splendid movie! Matthew Broderick is absolutely hilarious in it- if you haven’t seen it, do so. Just don’t drop your cell phone, like I did, & spend an embarrassing five minutes on your hands & knees searching for it, much to the consternation of the lady sitting in front of you.

Tonight I was a total moron & watched The Notebook for the first time, alone in my bed. Needless to say, it made me depressed & self-loathing… but as soon as I turned the TV off I slipped out of the funk. Thank God.

Happy New Year, everyone. I hope you all had as fabulous a New Year’s Eve as my friends & I did, & I hope we all have a better 2006 than we did 2005. And now- I’m relaxing ‘til school starts again. 2 whole weeks of peace & quiet!

  • *I had a super good time on new years as well! Kinda upset I had to cut out early, but I rang in the new year with my bestest buds and that's all that matters! Love you! Yay for a new year!*

  • The Producers is such a musical delight... and how could anyone not love Matthew Broderick? He's Ferris Freakin Bueller!

  • You're the third hottest Jew.  After Lenny Kravitz and my boyfriend.  But they're both half Jewish so I guess you're the hottest Jew.

    I love that song.

  • hey hey long time no prop ^^ hope you reach your resolutions :)

  • I envy you...

My New Years turned horridly bad at around 2 a.m.

  • Because you've had a life-changing year and managed to be incredibly resilient.  I know that you've gone through a transition, but you've remained true to yourself, and I believe that merits more than just celebration.  Although I *can* still figure out what you're thinking when we talk, our conversations are sporatic at best.  And...while I'm not the most qualified person to comment on 2005 for you, I have known you for awhile.  Plus I read your Xanga almost everyday (and it seems like I'm having a conversation with you because you write exactly how you speak), so I have a pretty good idea of what's going on with your life.  Point being that you've remained the same sarcastic, witty and brilliant girl that I've known for, what...ten/eleven years?  For those ten/eleven years (well...we'll throw out the middle school years)...for the past eight years, you've consistantly been someone that I admired...and, even after it seemed like your life was falling apart in 05, I still had more respect for you as a person, and the way that you handled yourself than I could imagine having for most people.  I had the worst year of my life in 05, and...I fell apart.  Given, I might not have if I had the kind of amazing support system that you do, but...regardless- I'm still trying to pick up the pieces of my shattered existance.  So yeah.  You asked why I listed you as "deserving celebration?"  After everything that I just rambled on about, the answer is simple- because I can't think of anyone *more* deserving than you.  Here's to a brighter year....

  • I totally typed sporadic wrong. bah.
