  • “i get to dress up & play the assasin again. it's my favorite; he's got personality.” –The New Amsterdams-

I’m ridiculously weary of ignorance, and of people who don’t even realize their own ignorance; people who say racist, prejudicial things and can’t comprehend why others are offended; who disguise their idiocy with eloquence and hope no one notices that they don’t know a damn thing.

I have a horrible cold…in July. WTF?! My immune system decided it hates me.

    ((()))

I’m having a really hard time with my columns lately. I just despise my writing – I could be doing so much better, but it’s like I’m stuck in a creative swamp where everything is all mucked together & I’m dredging through it. I wrote this last week, & Ben rebutted with this this week, which sort of sucks because I disagree with his point but it was articulated better than mine was.

    ......

Aaron compared my hair to matzah: “Other people are like, ‘I love matzah,’ and you’re like, ‘Yeah? Well, you try eating it for a week.’” What a good analogy, seriously. I mean, you tell me it’s cute, but why don’t you try shaving your head? …No? Didn’t think so.

My mom sent me Jolly Bear & my Tevas. My life is now complete.

Home in 9, but who’s counting? What a fast-paced summer.

  • okay so i just about wrote a book on the musical elitist debate, but i decided that it was a little too much. sooo here's a shortened version of my two cents: it seemed to me that he was insinuating that you were attacking his love of the bands that he mentioned. i believe that you totally weren't, but were instead attacking the snobbish attitude held by musical elitists towards musical genres that fall outside their narrow realm of personal preference. a musical elitist doesn't have to be an indie music fan; he/she can be a rap fan, a death metal fan or a country fan. so, my advice is to lighten up and listen to some gosh dang kelly clarkson, primus and black-eyed peas along with that sigur ros and le tigre!

ps. i sent you a card the other day, i hope it finds you soon.

  • That is a really good analogy for shaving your head. lol!

Sorry I haven't been by in so long. I went through a commenting slump.

  • I read your article as well as this "ben" fellow, and I must say you were just stating the way things are, whereas (is that a word? i figured of all people you'd know) he was meerly attacking.

I liked yours though. It made me feel better knowing I can have Backstreet Boys, Citizen Cope, Snow Patrol, and Kelly Clarkson on one iPod and not be shunned for it.
