  • “It’s okay, I’m alright, just a little rough around the edges of this life.” –Teitur-

I’m not used to this whole home thing yet. Like, I wanted to lip-sync in Airbands. Like, I want to go to date party & wear my geometric dress. Like, there’s a whole new pledge class I never even met & I have a Grandlittle I didn’t even know about. Like, my first Little forgot I exist, I guess, which I knew might happen. In general.

I ate dinner twice tonight. Once with my mom at Panera & once with my fave couple, Kevin & Annie, at the old-skool Rockne’s where I had bacon-cheddar fries that sort of got congealed-ish & gross, and Kevin had giant, beefy nachos that looked like a massacre. Yowza.

    <<<//>>>

          * results for my search of "congealed"... what?

I’ve read three Mary Higgins Clark books & am in desperate need of something deeper, so if you have any suggestions, that’d be fabulous. Annnnd GO.

Also, I killed four spiders yesterday. A) I hate spiders with a burning passion and B) I hadn’t even seen a spider for, like, months prior to this. WTF? Spiders love 4/20 or something.

    ((()))

*the only spider pic I found that I could handle

Umm my mom & I signed up for the online Jewish dating service & some kid just IMed me & I'm realizing that dating websites, even as a mother-daughter joke, are probably never a good idea.

Bowling tonight. I feel like being ca-razy except that they started carding, the bastards. How dare they start abiding the law? Eff that. Whatever, maybe I’ll get some strikes. HA.

  • Eeew Spiders! I can look @ that picture :)

Good luck bowling. Oh, & I suggest Robert Ludlum (The Bourne books) or Dan Brown, for books!

    Take care

  • oh dear god -- nineteen girls?  i dunno....    just kiddingggggg.

    what bowling alley cards?  sewiously...

  • yeah its tough leaving school...but you'll find your niche :)

  • carding sucks! at least when youre trying to get 40's

  • Book recommendations: "How to Be Like Women of Influence" (I'm currently reading), "It's Not About the Bike" by Lance Armstrong, and if you're up for a challenge, "Anna Karennina." I love reading, maybe I should start some kind of club or something. Hope all is well with you...maybe we should go watch Airbands or something? Lemme know what you think.

  • Spiders are disgusting.

  • You're having spider problems, too?  Man.  We should probably put signs up around our houses that say "Keep Out, Spiders" (assuming they speak english).  Okay, well...maybe puting up signs isn't the best idea, but something has to be done to stop this madness!!  Secondly...if you haven't read "The Da Vinci Code" yet, read it...it's amazing.  Umm...also "She's Come Undone" is fantastic...I actually suggest that more-so than "The Da Vinci Code."  Wally Lamb (I know, what a geeky name), the author of "She's Come Undone,"  has another book called "I Know This Much is True," which is also a good read.  Uhhh...oh, and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" is probably my favorite book ever, and...you've probably read it already, but...if you haven't- do it.  (I have lots of book suggestions, seeing as though I'm a closet book worm.)

  • There was a giant white spider I had to kill in my room tonight... creeeeeepy.

  • i kinda like spiders, not like all creepy style, but...anyways, read The Alchemist

  • The school/home thing is rough and I have no answers...

Spiders are NASTY and I've killed a couple BY MYSELF in my apartment.  You may not understand what a huge deal that was for me was since I don't do spiders.

  • If you want deep, i can give you deep. English literature kind of deep. If you have a pretty good grasp of english language and the use of metaphors (which, well, you do) dont be afraid to go old school and read some of the "harder" classic stuff. Otherwise, "Language of Love" by Diane Schomperlain, "Poisonwood Bible", "Druids", "The Birth of Venus", "Rebecca"...I can give you more if you want. I read all the damn time.

Also..my dad met my stepmom on a Christian internet dating service..i wish i was joking.

  • my absolute favorite book is "my sisters keeper" jodi polcult (spelling isnt correct on that last name). i hope you get to come. and you should take that offer up from maria...and come to airbands. if it makes you feel better...i am doing absolutely NOTHING with airbands.

ps. thank you thank you thank you for my first letter at the SK house! that meant a lot to me!

    love you

  • I look at it like this: for every spider I let live in my house, that's fifty less other bugs.  Besides, I can't kill the little black jumping spiders because I know they're actually really smart, and I hate killing smart animals (did I just equate spiders and dolphins?)

YOU MUST READ ANGELS IN AMERICA by Tony Kushner.  It's absolutely magnificent.  It's a play, but it's this personal, dirty, glorious thing.  The theme seems to fit with what I know of your life right now:
         In dangerous times
              The heart breaks and breaks
                   And lives by breaking.

  • I'll burn C.L. as soon as my computer is back on track (may take a while).  You can burn me anything...  something you really like...  something not too emo, ok?  Have a beautiful rainy day.

  • things to read:

a heartbreaking work of staggering genius

    on the road

one flew over the cuckoo's nest (if you've read it you should reread it)

    any poetry by sylvia plath

    any poetry by charles bukowski

    any poetry by jack kerouac

  • Here are my book reccomendations... the ones I can think of at the moment anyway...

    My fave books:

     Wuthering Heights-Emily Bronte

    Pride and Prejudice- Jane Austen

     Edgar Allen Poe stories

The Poisonwood Bible, Animal Dreams, Pigs in Heaven-Barbara Kingsolver.

    Generation X-Douglas Coupland

    Love Invents Us- Amy Bloom

     The Love Artist-Jane Alison

Blood Sugar (Best poetry book in the entire world)- Nicole Blackman

    Fear of Dreaming- Jim Carroll

Venus Trines at Midnight- Linda Goodman

    A Night Without Armor- Jewel

Culture Jam- I forget who wrote it but its an INCREDIBLE look into our society.... Check out Adbusters.org for more info on it...

  • I forgot "Jitterbug Perfume" by Tom Robbins... thats like my favorite book ever. I'm such a crackhead and.. "The Brass Dolphin" but I forget who wrote it and I don't wanna quest to find the book right now... I think maybe I read too much
